About Amerigo Travel

My name is Randall. I'm a travel advisor based in Maryville, Tennessee, and I built Amerigo Travel around a simple, uncommon idea: every trip should be planned the way you'd plan it for your own family. That's the standard, and it doesn't bend.

Navigate — clarity over choices.

Europe is a flood. Dozens of cruise lines. Hundreds of tour operators. Tens of thousands of hotels, layered onto a continent with regional pacing rules most travelers only learn the hard way. The problem isn't finding options. It's narrowing them.

My job is the elimination. By the time you see a recommendation, I've already weighed it against the alternatives, the season, the routing, and the kind of trip you've described. You get the version that holds up under scrutiny — not the version that looks good in a brochure.

With — planned as if for family.

Every trip gets the same standard: hotels I'd stay in, routes I'd take, suppliers I'd trust. A client once put it to me this way — tell me what you'd recommend to your grandparents. That's the bar. No upselling. No commission-driven steering. No being bounced between agents. There's one person on your file, and the care gets even greater when you're planning for people you love.

One thing worth saying directly: working with me doesn't cost extra. My compensation is built into the supplier rates — you pay the same whether you book direct, through an aggregator, or through me. What you get in exchange is the planning, the curation, and someone to call when a flight cancels at 2 a.m. in Lisbon.

The trips I plan are built for people who want to come home a little different from when they left. That doesn't mean wellness retreats or transformation packages. It means itineraries with breathing room — time to wander, eat a meal slowly, talk to someone whose grandfather built the church you just walked into. My longest-running clients tend to talk less about the sites they saw and more about the people they met and what they noticed along the way.

The name Amerigo isn't decorative. It's a nod to Amerigo Vespucci — the navigator and cartographer who insisted on calling new ground new, rather than assuming it was something already known. That mindset sits at the center of how I plan.
